TGPSC's wording: “Signature of the candidate shall be a digital Image [3.5cmx1.5cm] separately and uploaded here.”
The photograph gets 50 KB; the signature gets 30. At 3.5 × 1.5 cm that is usually comfortable, but a thin or faint pen can survive the resize and then dissolve in the JPEG. The tool measures the contrast between your strokes and the paper and tells you before you download.
The other end matters too. A signature is mostly white space, and white space compresses to almost nothing — a clean, cropped, high-contrast scan at small pixel dimensions can land at a few hundred bytes. TGPSC's table sets 1 KB as the floor, so the encoder here works to a band and lifts the pixel dimensions if the result comes in underneath.
TGPSC's instruction covers the image, its dimensions and its size band, and stops. It names no ink colour, so neither do we. For comparison: MPSC requires black, GATE permits black or dark blue, and APPSC and BPSC state nothing either. Rules do not carry across commissions, and a tool that applies one commission's ink rule to another is guessing.
TGPSC and APPSC split from the same commission in 2014 and their registration forms still look alike, so the specifications get copied between them. They are not the same. Andhra Pradesh PSC (psc.ap.gov.in) allows 50 KB with no minimum at all, permits a black and white photograph, and requires the candidate's name and the date the photograph was taken to be printed on the image. TGPSC requires none of that and sets a floor instead. A file prepared for one commission is not automatically right for the other.
Telangana changed its official abbreviation from TS to TG in 2024, and the Telangana State Public Service Commission became the Telangana Public Service Commission. Both tspsc.gov.in and tgpsc.gov.in reach it and the helpdesk address is now helpdesk@tgpsc.gov.in. If your search results, your coaching notes and your OTR login page disagree about the name, that is why — nothing about the specification changed with it.
One caution: the registration portal is otr.tgpsc.gov.in, a government domain. Sites on lookalike names are not the commission, whatever they publish. Check where you are before typing an Aadhaar number into anything.

MPSC requires black, GATE permits black or dark blue, APPSC and BPSC state nothing. Since TGPSC states nothing, this tool checks that your strokes are legible rather than policing their colour.
That is what TGPSC's table says: "1KB - 30 KB". It is a low floor and most scans clear it easily, but a small, clean, high-contrast signature compresses remarkably well and can drop under it. The tool encodes into the band rather than only chasing the ceiling.
TGPSC does not state one, nor a DPI. 3.5 by 1.5 cm is 276 by 118 pixels at 200 DPI and 413 by 177 at 300. The 140 by 60 figure circulating for state commissions comes from the banking-exam template and not from TGPSC.
Yes. TGPSC's certificate note says candidates are permitted to re-upload their latest colour passport photograph and signature at any time. That is a specific exception - uploaded certificates are non-editable apart from the EWS and Non-Creamy Layer ones, and other OTR details are only correctable within 24 hours of first submission.
Yes, same commission. TSPSC became TGPSC when Telangana changed its abbreviation from TS to TG in 2024. Both tspsc.gov.in and tgpsc.gov.in reach it and the specification did not change with the name.
