Last updated: June 2026. This policy explains what happens to your files when you use CorePDFTools, and what data is collected when you visit the site. We've tried to write it in plain language.
The short version
Your documents are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. However, like most free websites, CorePDFTools uses third-party services for analytics and advertising (Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Adsterra), and those services collect technical data about your visit using cookies and similar technologies. The two things are separate: the privacy of your files is absolute; the website itself behaves like a normal ad-supported site.
Your files are never uploaded
All of our PDF tools run locally inside your web browser. When you select a file, it is read into the browser tab on your own device and processed there. It is never transmitted to our servers — in fact, the tools have no server component to receive files. When you close or refresh the page, the file is cleared from the browser's memory. We never see, receive, store, or have any access to the documents you work with.
Information collected when you visit
While your files stay private, visiting the website does involve some data collection through third-party services:
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — for example, which tools are popular and which pages people visit. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location (derived from your IP address), device and browser type, pages viewed, and time spent on the site. This data is aggregated and helps us improve the site. It does not include the contents of your files. You can read how Google handles this data in Google's Privacy Policy, and you can opt out using Google's browser add-on.
Google AdSense
We display ads through Google AdSense to keep the tools free. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. This is known as interest-based advertising. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on our site and use cookies to do so.
Adsterra
We also use Adsterra, an advertising network, to display ads. Adsterra and its partners may set cookies and collect technical information (such as device type, browser, and IP-based location) to deliver and measure advertising. Their data handling is governed by Adsterra's own privacy policy.
Cookies in general
The services above place cookies and may use similar technologies (such as web beacons or local storage) on your device. Cookies are small text files that help with analytics and advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; doing so will not affect the file-processing tools, which work regardless of cookies. Note that under laws such as the GDPR (EU) and similar regulations, you may have rights regarding this data and consent — where required, a consent banner may be shown.
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect or store the contents of any file you process. We do not require an account, so we do not collect names, email addresses, or passwords through normal use of the tools. (If you email us directly, we will of course see the email address and message you send.)
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Third-party links
Some pages may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Significant changes will be reflected here.
